On Monday night, August 17, a three-hour training session focusing on dump tank operations took place as part of the 72nd Annual Schuylkill County Firefighters Convention. The 2026 convention is hosted by the Ryan Township Fire Company in Barnesville, Pennsylvania. This training session was held at Lakewood Park Campground in Barnesville, which many years ago was the site of the annual Schuylkill County Fire School.

Approximately 60 participants attended, representing fire companies from across the county. The training covered topics such as apparatus design, drafting, and various dump tank arrangements. Attendees participated in hands-on exercises, including dump tank setup and operation, along with tanker off-loading and loading procedures.

Deputy Chief Matt Morgan of the Ryan Township Fire Company coordinated the event. The Lakewood Park Campground provided access to its facilities, allowing water hauling exercises to be conducted as part of the training. Many thanks to everyone who helped make this event a big success.
