On June 1, 2025, we completed another bridge-mount dry fire hydrant installation in Vermont; this time in the Town of Albany. The installation was funded in part by the Vermont Rural Fire Protection Program (Grant) and was approved by the Town. The installation used our angle-mount brackets and an ETT 6-inch NH female suction head and an ETT 6-inch stream strainer outfitted with our Jericho Ice Breaker pin. The location was the Water Street bridge over the Black River, a location that the FD had never been able to access before due to the lift and amount of suction hose needed. The new installation required 21-feet of 6-inch pipe....which is a bit out of our normal range but we were able to make it work just like we did a couple years ago in Proctorsville, VT. The flow test produced a flow just over 750 gpm but we are anxious to see what Albany VFD's new pumper will do....we expect a higher flow. Many thanks to Chief Josh Pillion of the Albany VFD and Troy Dare of the Vermont Rural Fire Protection Task Force for thinking of us. We always enjoy our work in Vermont....beautiful countryside and very nice people.
