Last week we finished up our 24th bridge-mount dry fire hydrant installation in Harford County, Maryland....this time back to the Whiteford area. The installation was completed on a State of Maryland bridge over Broad Creek on Graceton Road. Our angle-mount design was used as were suction head and suction strainer products from ETT. Today, we flow tested the device and achieved a flow of 1306 gpm using Engine 611, a 1750 gpm pumper from the Whiteford VFC. Elevation at the site was 390 feet and the lift today just over 13-feet. The project was funded in part with State grant funding.
The new installation replaced this fixed installation that had been damaged by storm water.
The flow test produced 1306 gpm! Nice!
The suction head is a bit higher than we prefer but it worked okay.
