Here is another one of our bridge-mount dry fire hydrants that we installed last month in Harford County, Maryland. This installation was done on Macton Road over Broad Creek in the Darlington area of the County. Elevation at this location was 240 ft and the lift was 14.5 feet. The new installation replaced a fixed-pipe installation that no longer worked due to the strainer being silted in.
Darlington Engine 913 (1500 gpm) was used to flow test the new installation and was able to produce a flow of 1400+ gpm; which was pretty impressive.
Preplanning and measurement site visit in 2020.
The old dry fire hydrant that no longer worked. (Capped prior to our installation.)
Our new installation; the design allows the pipe to be protected behind the guard rail.
1400 gpm+ on the flow test.
Darlington Engine 913 flow tests the new installation and produced a flow in excess of 1400 gpm!
