Dry Fire Hydrant Design #33 - Bridge Mount Installation - Darlington, Maryland
By President Mark Davis
September 3, 2020
On August 30th we completed the flow test on another one of our bridge mount dry fire hydrant installations in Harford County, Maryland. This one was located in the Darlington area on Robinson Mill Road at Broad Creek. The installation was funded by local government as part of the upgrade to a new bridge installation. We used our angle-mount design and an ETT suction head and stream strainer. The flow test resulted in 1216 gpms at a 14-ft lift using Darlington Engine 913 equipped with a 1500 gpm single stage pump.
Bridge assessment day with County public works folks.
This type of bridge rail is perfect for our angle-mount design.
Darlington Engine 913 drafts and flows 1200+gpm from the newly installed bridge mount DFH along Broad Creek.
