Rural Water Supply Operations Seminar (16 hours)

GBW’s 16-hr Rural Water Supply Operations Seminar is geared to the folks who live and work in the non-hydranted areas of the Americas who have to haul their fire fighting water supplies with them to every fire. The basic seminar consists of 4 hours of classroom activities followed by 12 hours of practical water hauling activities. Relay Pumping With Large Diameter Hose Seminar (8 hours)

GBW’s Relay Pumping With LDH Seminar specifically addresses the safe and efficient use of LDH (3-1/2”, 4”, 5”, 6”, and 7-1/4”) in water supply delivery and relay pumping operations. No matter if you are a municipal, rural, or industrial department LDH is the recognized standard in moving big water. In this 8-hr training program, learn how to maximize your department’s LDH water supply delivery and relay pumping system so that big water becomes the rule rather than the exception at your next water supply event. Water Supply Officer Seminar (8 hours)

GBW’s 8-hr Water Supply Officer Seminar covers the duties and responsibilities of the fire department Water Supply Officer in both the emergent and non-emergent setting as described in NFPA 1142 Standard on Water Supplies for Suburban and Rural Firefighting Ed 2022.  The seminar reviews ISO's water supply requirements, the components of municipal water systems, the development of alternative water supplies, the testing and inspection of water supply system components, the use of water supply vehicles, water supply pre-planning, and the Water Supply Group (Officer) function in ICS.  The seminar uses a combination of classroom and practical skill activities to develop the participant's water supply knowledge and to prepare folks to serve as a fire department's Water Supply Officer.

The Fire Department's Interface with Fire Protection Systems (8 hours)

        

GBW’s 8-hr Fire Department Interface with Fire Protection Systems seminar covers the best practices and considerations when operating at emergency incidents involving fixed-fire protection systems. Regardless if you are a new firefighter or a seasoned-chief officer, there is something for you in this program. The seminar is instructored by a registered fire protection engineer with 40+ years in the fire service serving in all ranks from firefighter to Fire Chief. Topics covered include the basic components of sprinkler, standpipe, fire pump, and fire alarm systems in both the commerical and residential settings.  In addition to classroom discussion, the seminar includes on-site activities at nearby buildings equipped with fire protection systems.

Dry Fire Hydrant Seminar (3 hours)

GBW’s 3-hr Dry Fire Hydrant Seminar covers the best practices and considerations in the design, installation and maintenance of dry fire hydrants for fire protection.  The seminar reviews water supply needs, water access rights and ownership, ISO requirements, design choices, installation guidelines, and maintenance and testing practices.
