Chief Charles King and Oconee County (South Carolina) Emergency Services hosted one of our 2-day Rural Water Supply Operations Seminars on January 12th and 13th. The seminar was extremely well-attended by folks from Oconee County, the surrounding mutual aid groups, as well some folks from Georgia and Alabama. The seminar focused on the basics of hauling water with tankers. The seminar's 10 hrs of practical activities culminated with the 2-hour ISO tanker shuttle drill where the participants did a fantastic job of sustaining water flow for 2-hours using tankers only. They averaged 900 gpm for the 2-hour period - with a peak of 1400 gpm from about 30 minutes.
A full summary will be posted in a couple of weeks.
