On August 18th, around 30 members of the Stratham VFD (New Hampshire) and surrounding fire departments got together to haul water with tankers for 2-hrs. The drill was the culmination of our 16-hr Rural Water Supply Operations Seminar that was sponsored and hosted by the Stratham VFD. The seminar was our third visit to Stratham since 2023 and each time the folks have improved on their tanker operation skills. This year's drill used five tankers and one fill site (2.2-mile RT) to support a peak flow of 750 gpm. The operations started off with a rural hitch for the first 20 minutes and then transitioned to dump tank operations as the flow increased occurred. Many thanks to the Stratham VFD for the excellent logistical support and for working to improve their own operations. A full summary will be posted in a few weeks.
