When a tanker arrives at a dump site, there are several items often needed: the water, the dump tank, and a way to transfer water to another dump tank. If each tanker in a mutual aid group were to carry a length of suction hose with a pre-connected jet siphon (or water transfer device), then any pumper could easily operate a three-dump tank water supply operation - because each tanker would bring the needed "pieces of the puzzle." The folks in Romulus, New York "get it" - they can provide 3,000 gallons of water, a dump tank, and a water transfer device ready for use. This is how you make your tanker/tender "combat ready!" |
