We recently had a social media inquiry regarding the brand of PVC cement we use during our dry fire hydrant installations and repairs. For the past 15+ years we have used Oatey heavy duty cement and primer. No special reason why, it simply was the cement and primer for sale at the plumbing supply store where we bought our first PVC pipe and fittings. The products have served us well ever since. Pretty sure there are other good brands out there as well, we just stuck with the one that we first used.

While on the topic of supplies, we use Krylon Fusion spray paint to paint any exposed PVC pipe and we use Rustoleum's Cold Galvanizing Compound to protect any holes drilled in guardrail posts. Again, pretty sure there are other good brands out there, we just stayed with what we first used because they worked well.
