We completed our 2-day Rural Water Supply Operations Seminar today in ESD #7 located just outside San Antonio, Texas. Chief Kevin Clarkson and the folks from District 7 Fire Rescue did a great job of hosting the program. The seminar culminated in the 2-hr ISO water supply drill today where crews worked hard to run a 3-dump tank water supply operation using just one fill site that provided a 6-mile round trip.
We are pleased to say that the drill was a success and that the t-shirt raffle raised enough money for the 29th brick in the NFFF Walk-of-Honor! Instructors for the seminar were Mark Davis and Greg Dods. A full summary will be posted in a week or so.
District 7 Tender 115 (3,000 gallons) gets into position to run a nurse tender operation while Engine 115's crew works to set up a dump site.
With nurse tender operations underway - the first dump tank is set up.
District 7 Tender 116 dumps its first load of 2,000 gallons and the nurse tender operations are stopped.
The folks eventually moved to a 3-tank dump site operation.
Off-loading water.
Waiting on a tender to arrive - it was close! The pump operator did a nice job of using his tank water to bridge the gap.
